MADISONVILLE, LA – The Republican Liberty Caucus (RLC) has unanimously endorsed Col. Rob Maness (ret.) in the Louisiana race for United States Senate.
“We’re pleased that Colonel Maness is willing to continue his service to our country with his candidacy for the U.S. Senate,” said RLC National Chair Matt Nye. “The Colonel is dedicated to restoring the individual rights of Americans. This is no small task with the unprecedented overreach we’re seeing by a federal government that infringes on our rights and interferes in our lives in ways that would shock the founders of this country.”
Maness emerged from the field of candidates as the strongest advocate for individual liberty, Constitutionally limited government and free market solutions, and the best prepared to defeat incumbent Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu.
“Sen. Landrieu originally embraced Obamacare, but is now running away from it because it’s both a functional and political nightmare,” said Nye. “As a 32-year veteran of the Air Force, Col. Maness knows firsthand the importance of fighting for what is right and staying with it. Louisiana deserves a senator who will consistently fight to protect their rights, not change positions on life and death issues when it’s politically expedient to do so.”
With every revelation of another government program chipping away at personal freedom and a president prepared to rule by executive order, Maness scored points with his insistence to restore the checks and balances of power as stated in the Constitution. As RLC Louisiana State Coordinator Parker G. Ward put it, “Rob Maness is the embodiment of liberty. He took an oath, while in the military, to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution. I believe he will do just that in the Senate.”
Maness and his wife, Cindy, have five children, two of whom are currently serving in the military, and reside in Madisonville, Louisiana.
